Mass Emergency Broadcasting
Newfies-Dialer can be used in environments where a large number of people have to be contacted in a short space of time. The message can be as specific as calling all the residents of an area to inform them of a missing child, a school closure, or as broad as alerting the entire town to a severe weather warning.
The system is broadly similar to the Telecasting system in design, in that it broadcasts a simple message to all in the phonebook.
A list of contacts to call are uploaded to Newfies-Dialer, ready for when the emergency voice broadcast is sent. Emergency voice broadcasts, by their nature, need to be sent out quickly, and may not be able to be pre-prepared with voice recordings, so Newfies-Dialer can use Text to Speech so that the message to be sent can be typed in by anyone, and Newfies-Dialer turns that into speech which is heard when the contacts are called.
Depending on the size of the system chosen, thousands of people can be called pr sent SMS messages every minute, and for first responders, there is also the option of confirmation of attendance via the interactive IVR.
Newfies-Dialer can also be used for less urgent notifications, such as school closures, snow days, road closures, and any other notifications.
With the comprehensive set of API supplied with Newfies-Dialer, the system can be integrated into other applications to decide on the people to dial, and the message to be broadcasted.
